Located just minutes from Villages of Irvine neighborhoods, the Irvine Spectrum Center is a convenient and exciting spot where you can enjoy all the winter season has to offer. Here’s our list of several family-friendly holiday events you can attend at the Irvine Spectrum Center this year.
Kicking off the holiday season on November 25th, the Irvine Spectrum Center is hosting nightly tree lighting shows through January 1st! Taking place every half hour between 5pm and 11pm, visitors can stop by and admire the center’s 50-foot holiday tree decorated in dazzling, color-changing LED lights. This choreographed light show is set to cheerful holiday music that friends and family are sure to love. Once you have seen the show, be sure to take a tour of the grounds where you can take in the beautiful décor, which includes more than 225,000 lights, festive garlands and snowflake light projections, and snap a selfie using the hashtags #IrvineSpectrum #HolidayStyleOC.
If you live in Irvine, chances are you’ve been anticipating one of the city’s most popular winter events – ice skating at the Irvine Spectrum Center! Now open in Giant Wheel Court, Skating Under the Stars is a one-of-a-kind, holiday activity that appeals to visitors of all ages. Occurring seven days a week through the month of January, Skating Under the Stars gives guests the unique opportunity to ice skate well into the evening, with doors closing at 11pm. For some added excitement, Skating Under the Stars also features Themed Thursdays from 6pm to 8:30pm, where guests can enjoy live DJing, prizes, a $5 discount when they dress in-theme and a chance to win a $100 gift card.
We all know that Santa has a sled, but did you know he also owns a surfboard? Every day through Christmas Eve, you can take the whole family to meet Santa at his Crystal Cove beach-inspired surf shack where he’ll be ready to take photos with kids of all ages. Located in Carousel Court, Santa’s home will be the backdrop for several holiday events, including Cookies & Milk with Santa every Friday in December from 11am – 12pm.
The holidays are the perfect time to give back to children in need. Taking place through December 18th, The Salvation Army Toy Drive will be accepting new, unwrapped toys in front of Guest Services, located near the Carousel and Giant Wheel.
On December 17th, Chabad of Irvine is celebrating Hanukkah at the Irvine Spectrum Center with a spectacular Menorah Lighting. Honoring traditions with lively music and entertainment, this is sure to be a dazzling holiday event.
Several restaurants at the Irvine Spectrum Center will be offering seasonal menus and special deals during the holidays. Kabuki Japanese Restaurant’s menu now features a seasonal kabocha squash soup and special holiday cocktails, including a Pom Fizz, made with vodka, pomegranate juice, lemonade and ginger beer, and a Spiked Matcha. BRIO Tuscan Grille is hosting its “12 Days to Win!” Facebook and Instagram contest from December 4th to December 15th. Each day, BRIO will post a question related to the holiday season and those who respond with the correct answer will have the chance to win gift cards, brunch for six, a chef’s dinner, a Happy Hour party for 12 and unlimited BRIO for a year. Through the month of December, you can receive a $10 bonus car for every $50 purchased in gift cards at Paul Martin’s American Grill. The restaurant will also showcase an exclusive holiday menu with enticing entrees like filet mignon topped with a Dungeness crab cake, house-made hollandaise and fresh asparagus.
